PMI Study Hall review: PMI’s own PMP course and practice
Last checked October 23, 2026 · Sources: PMI’s own new PMP exam page and July 2026 content outline; product prices as reported by third-party sites and not confirmed on pmi.org. The rating is our editorial assessment from published details using the rubric on our how we rank page, not a hands-on test.
This PMI Study Hall review covers PMI’s own PMP prep: a self-paced exam prep course and the Study Hall practice subscription. They’re built by the body that writes the exam, so alignment with the July 2026 content outline is the selling point, but the course costs more than the budget video courses, and Study Hall alone doesn’t give you the 35 contact hours.

Self-paced course built by PMI, with the 35 contact hours.
See on pmi.orgPMI's practice questions and exams; no contact hours.
See on pmi.orgWhat stands out
PMI describes the refreshed exam on its own pages, offers a PMP practice exam and a Study Hall subscription, and points candidates to online prep or instructor-led training. The official prep course is reported to be the only course built by PMI itself, with the 35 contact hours included. Because PMI writes both the content outline and the exam, its practice reflects the July 2026 changes, including Business Environment at 26%.
What to watch for
Study Hall and the practice exam are practice tools. They do not give you the 35 contact hours, so you still need a qualifying course. The official course is reported at roughly twice the price of mid-range options and several times the cheapest Udemy ones.

Common questions about PMI Study Hall
Is PMI's own prep the safest choice?
PMI says its updated content outline defines what is tested, and its own prep is built around it. A third-party course can also be accurate if it was rebuilt for the July 2026 outline.
Does membership discount it?
Membership reportedly lowers the price of the official course, and it also lowers the exam fee. Check pmi.org for the current prices.
Does PMI Study Hall count for the 35 contact hours?
No. Study Hall is practice only; you need a qualifying course for the 35 contact hours.
Is this review sponsored?
No. We currently earn no commission from PMI or any PMP provider, and no one paid for this review.
The bottom line
PMI’s own material is a strong choice if you value alignment with the source and are happy to pay for it, or if an employer reimburses. If you are paying yourself, a budget course for the hours plus Study Hall for practice may cost less.
