PMP community: Reddit, Quora and outdated advice to watch

The PMP community online centers on r/pmp and Quora, where candidates share study plans and exam-day stories. These communities are unofficial: good for ideas, but the exam changed on July 9, 2026 and fees rose in August, so many older posts are out of date. Check fees, eligibility and rules against PMI’s own pages.
- r/pmp: the large, active unofficial community for PMP candidates. It states it has no affiliation with PMI, and it is known for detailed “how I passed” posts and a maintained list of study resources.

- PMP exam questions on Quora: longer answers about eligibility, study time and whether the PMP helps your career.

- Check the date on a post. PMI changed the exam fee in August 2026 and updates the content outline over time, so older posts may quote old fees or topics.
- Confirm fees and rules on the official PMP links page.
- Treat course recommendations with care: some posts are written by people who sell or are paid to promote a course. See our best PMP prep for ratings.
