The Project Management Institute (PMI) runs the certification, reviews applications and sets the rules; Pearson VUE delivers the exam online or at test centers. Apply, pay and schedule
- Apply: submit your application in your PMI account. PMI reviews it and may select it for audit.
- Pay: once approved, you pay the exam fee to PMI (members pay less). See our PMP exam cost page for the current figures and their sources.
- Schedule with Pearson VUE: after payment, your PMI dashboard sends you to Pearson VUE to book an online-proctored or test-center appointment.
