Best PMP prep courses for the July 2026 exam

Update, October 23, 2026: PM PrepCast is closing. PrepCast’s own site says all product access ends December 4, 2026, so we no longer recommend buying it unless you’ll sit the PMP before then. See our PM PrepCast review. For training plus a simulator, Andrew Ramdayal’s course with his TIA simulator is the closest alternative.

Last checked October 23, 2026 · Sources: PMI’s new PMP exam page and July 2026 content outline; TIA’s simulator page; PrepCast’s own site (closure notice); course prices as reported by third-party sites, which disagree and move with sales. Ratings are our editorial assessment from published details, not hands-on tests.

The best PMP prep course does two jobs: earning the 35 contact hours you need to apply, and practicing for an exam that was refreshed on July 9, 2026. Many cheap courses do the first well and the second poorly, so most candidates combine a course with a practice-exam simulator. Our top pick is Andrew Ramdayal (4.5 / 5) with his TIA simulator.

How to choose, in four situations

You need the 35 hours as cheaply as possible

Ramdayal's and Phillips's Udemy courses each issue the 35 hours for the price of a lunch when on sale.

Cheapest PMP prep
You want serious exam practice

Add a dedicated simulator to a video course: Ramdayal's TIA simulator has 14 mock exams with video explanations, and PMI's Study Hall adds PMI-written practice.

Ramdayal review
You are new to project management

Phillips is described as beginner-friendly, and Ramdayal as focused on the exam mindset. Many pair them.

Joseph Phillips review
You want PMI's own material

PMI's own course and Study Hall are built to match its outline, though they cost more than the Udemy options.

How we rated the best PMP prep courses

We rate each course out of 5 with the same rubric we use across the site: question bank 25%, practice exams 20%, lectures 15%, platform 15%, support 10% and value 15%, based on what providers publish. Because the rubric weights practice heavily, video courses are rated together with the simulator their makers sell, where that’s how most candidates buy them. We withdraw ratings for products that are closing. See how we rank PMP courses.

Also worth knowing

  • Check the exam version. The exam was refreshed on July 9, 2026. A course not updated for it will under-teach the Business Environment domain, now 26% of the exam.
  • Live training rules may tighten. Providers report that from late 2026, live courses only count toward the 35 hours if delivered by an authorized provider. Self-paced courses are not described as affected.
  • Other providers exist. Project Management Academy, PMTraining, Simplilearn and others sell live and bootcamp courses at higher prices. We have not reviewed them yet.

Common questions about the best PMP prep course

Do I need more than one course?

Often, yes. Many video courses give you the 35 hours and teach the material, while a separate simulator gives you realistic full-length practice. Check whether the course you pick includes enough exam-style questions.

Are cheap Udemy courses acceptable for the 35 hours?

They qualify as long as the course issues the 35-hour certificate and PMI accepts the provider. Check the course description, and PMI’s guidance if you plan to rely on live training.

What is the best PMP prep course?

Andrew Ramdayal, at 4.5 / 5 when paired with his TIA simulator; PMI’s official prep is the choice if you want material from the source.

Is PM PrepCast still worth buying?

Only if you’ll sit the exam before December 4, 2026; PrepCast’s own site says all product access ends that day.
