Still the strongest course on the market, and still hard to justify for anyone without employer reimbursement. If someone else is paying, you can stop reading and buy it.
What Becker offers
The task-based simulations are the reason to buy this course. Becker built them to behave like the exam software rather than like a worksheet — the exhibit pane, the research tool, the way the spreadsheet fights you slightly. Our reviewer who had already sat FAR once called the resemblance uncomfortable, which is exactly the point.
SkillMaster videos walk a full simulation from blank screen to submitted answer, narrating the decisions. Published reviews often cite these walkthroughs as a strength for candidates who struggle with simulations.
Where it falls short
The price is the headline problem. At $2,499 for the entry tier, it costs more than UWorld Roger’s $1,999 entry tier, and its advantages have not been independently measured. Becker quotes pass rates that are not independently audited, and we do not rank on them.
Lecture pacing is slow — every reviewer on our team ended up at 1.5× speed. The mobile app handles multiple-choice fine and simulations not at all, so plan to be at a desk for the part that matters most.
This is a summary. For the full breakdown of pricing tiers, screenshots, and how Becker compares against the other five courses we compare, see the full Becker CPA review.
