The DAT, explained
The Dental Admission Test is run by the American Dental Association for dental school admissions. It has four sections and 280 questions, and since March 1, 2025 it is scored on a 200 to 600 scale instead of 1 to 30.
Last checked October 2026. Based on a university pre-dental page and test-prep summaries of the ADA. Confirm details at ada.org/dat.

Not by itself: you apply to test through the ADA with a DENTPIN and then schedule with Prometric. Guides say it is offered year-round.
