How we rank DAT prep
We rank DAT prep by fit and value, using what providers publish about price, access, practice tests and guarantees. We haven’t tested these courses hands-on, so we don’t give scores, and no provider pays for placement.
What we look at
- Price for the access you get, including sale prices and official codes.
- Practice that matches the real DAT, especially full-length tests and the Perceptual Ability Test.
- Coverage: whether it covers every section or only some.
- Teaching format: self-paced, live or book.
- Guarantees and flexibility: extensions, refunds and pausing.
Where our facts come from
- Exam facts come from the ADA’s DAT Candidate Guide and User Manual.
- Course facts come from providers’ own pages wherever we can find them.
- When a provider doesn’t publish a price, or shows it only at checkout, we use review sites and label it “as reported.” DAT prices on review sites vary a lot, so we treat them with care.
Why the order is what it is
DAT Bootcamp ranks first because it combines the practice tests most students consider closest to the real DAT with a published price. DAT Booster is close behind for less. Kaplan and Princeton Review serve students who want live teaching. DAT Destroyer and Crack DAT are the low-cost ways to add practice.
