The cheapest way to prepare for the DAT
Start free with the ADA’s official practice questions and Perceptual Ability instructions. The cheapest paid option is Crack DAT’s app at $49.99 a month, and the cheapest full course is DAT Bootcamp Pro at $539.10 with its official DAT10 code on the $599 sale price. DAT Destroyer ($189.95) is the cheapest way to add hard science practice.

Ways to pay less
- Apply for the ADA’s partial fee waiver if you qualify: 50% off the $580 exam fee and a free full practice test.
- Ask about need-based pricing. Bootcamp reportedly offers it to students with an ADA fee waiver or federal aid.
- Stack DAT10 on Bootcamp’s sale price.
- Buy only the access you need. 90 days is enough for most full-time study; extend later rather than paying for 180 days upfront.
- Check secondhand carefully. Older DAT Destroyer editions are cheap, but the content changes yearly.
Where saving money backfires
A retake costs another $580 and at least 60 days. If a cheaper resource leaves you underprepared for the Perceptual Ability Test or realistic timing, the saving disappears quickly.
