Virginia PE license requirements
Virginia candidates now register for the PE directly with NCEES and pay NCEES; you apply to the Board for Architects, Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, Certified Interior Designers and Landscape Architects (APELSCIDLA) after passing. Earlier rules required board approval first. The board’s regulations were revised effective May 1, 2026, and from July 1, 2026 certain fees include a $7.25-a-year technology fee.
