Free PE exam resources
The most useful free PE resources come from NCEES: your discipline’s exam specifications, the electronic reference handbook (free in your MyNCEES account) and the NCEES Examinee Guide. Since the handbook and standards are the only references allowed in the exam, practicing with them is essential.
Sources: NCEES, checked October 11, 2026. NCEES’s official practice exams are sold through MyNCEES.
| Resource | Cost | Where |

Design standards themselves aren’t free: buy them from the publishers if you want to study with them before the exam.
