PE exam dates and availability
Most PE exams, including all five PE Civil exams, Mechanical, Electrical Power, Chemical and Environmental, are given year-round at Pearson VUE test centers, so you pick your own date. Smaller disciplines are given on one day a year, in April or October; PE Nuclear’s next date is October 27, 2026. The PE Structural depth sections run twice a year, in April and October.

Planning tips
- Board approval first: in states that require it, approval can take months.
- Once-a-year exams: missing the date means waiting a year, so register early.
- New PE Civil design standards take effect in April 2027; check which apply to your date.
