How to register for the LSAT
You register and pay through your LSAC account, then book a time slot with Prometric once scheduling opens for your administration. The deadlines are firm: LSAC has no late registration, and the registration deadline is usually also the last day for a free date change, a full refund and accommodation requests.

Create a JD account on LSAC's website. Make sure your legal first and last name match the ID you will bring on test day exactly.
Choose an administration and pay the $253 fee (August 2026 to June 2027) by the registration deadline. Apply for a fee waiver first if you may qualify. Request disability-related accommodations by the same deadline.
LSAC emails you when scheduling opens, usually two to three weeks before the test dates. Book your day and time through Prometric's ProScheduler. Slots are first come, first served, and test-center scheduling closes seven days after it opens.
It opens in your account eight days before your test. First-time test takers must complete it, and LSAC must approve it, before the score is released, so do it as soon as it opens.
Bring your physical ID and arrive at the Prometric center. From August 2026, almost everyone tests in person; remote testing is allowed only for limited exceptions.
If your plans change

If you cannot schedule a time before the test-center scheduling deadline, LSAC says your registration is withdrawn without a refund unless you request a (paid) date change.
Common questions
Can I register after the deadline?
No. LSAC does not offer late registration. If you miss the deadline, register for a later administration.
Can I avoid testing on a Saturday?
Yes. The LSAT runs over several days in each administration, so you can choose a non-Saturday date for religious observance.
