Why February is lower
February has more repeat takers. NCBE reported the July 2025 MBE national mean at 142.4, the highest July mean since 2013, against 130.8 in February 2025.
What these numbers mean
- Each jurisdiction sets its own passing score, so pass rates aren’t directly comparable between states.
- Your school’s first-time pass rate is a better guide than the national figure.
