Princeton Review AP Premium Prep review: the book route
Princeton Review’s AP Premium Prep books are one-subject study guides written by AP teachers and tutors, each with content review, strategies and several full-length practice tests split between the book and online. Practice-test counts vary by subject: the Calculus AB 13th edition has 8, Chemistry 7 and Biology 6. Prices are typically around $20 to $28 depending on the retailer.
Book contents and test counts from publisher listings at bookstores; prices vary by retailer and are as listed in 2026. Checked October 12, 2026. We have not tested them hands-on, so this review has no score.
What stands out
- Cheapest paid option per subject, and you keep it.
- Several full-length practice tests, with online versions that include a timer and downloadable PDFs.
- Updated for digital exams, with editions written for the newly digital formats.
What to watch for
- Buy the current edition. AP courses change; older editions may cover outdated content or formats.
- No feedback on your writing, just model answers.
