How to register for AP Exams
You register through your school, not directly with College Board. Join your AP class in My AP with your teacher’s join code, and your AP coordinator orders your exams by November 13, 2026. Exams cost $99 each in the US for 2026-27, or about $53 with College Board’s fee reduction, and less in some states.

Your AP coordinator orders exams for the whole school. Tell them if you're taking an exam without the class.
Fees go to your school, not College Board, by your school's own deadline.
College Board's final ordering deadline for full-year and first-semester courses is November 13, 2026; later orders cost $40 more.

New for 2026-27: College Board waives unused or canceled exam fees for the two new courses, AP Business with Personal Finance and AP Cybersecurity. Some states add funding for fee-reduced students; in 2026, Texas students paid $26 and New Jersey students $8.
Homeschooled or self-studying
- Find a school that will test you. Contact local schools’ AP coordinators well before November, or College Board’s AP Services.
- You can still get the fee reduction if you qualify; the testing school marks you as eligible when it orders.
- The testing school may add its own fee for proctoring.
