AP exam changes for 2027
The main change for May 2027 is more digital testing. AP Statistics, the six world language exams (Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish Language and Culture) and AP Spanish Literature and Culture become fully digital in College Board’s Bluebook app, and AP Music Theory becomes hybrid. New subjects such as AP Cybersecurity and AP Business with Personal Finance also appear on the 2027 schedule.

What digital and hybrid mean
- Fully digital: you answer every question, including free-response, in Bluebook on a device.
- Hybrid: you read questions and answer multiple-choice in Bluebook, but handwrite free-response answers in paper booklets.
- Still in school: digital AP Exams are taken at school, not at home.
New subjects on the 2027 schedule
- AP Cybersecurity: Wednesday, May 5, Session 1.
- AP Business with Personal Finance: Tuesday, May 4, Session 1.
- AP Networking: Friday, May 7, Session 2, for 2026-27 pilot schools only.
