Rules to know
- Deadlines are firm. ABIM says it adheres strictly to its published registration dates and encourages early registration.
- Internal Medicine comes first. You must be certified in Internal Medicine before taking a subspecialty exam, and can’t take both in the same year.
- Fee credit recipients still register in the normal window; the 50% credit applies automatically at payment.
- Cancel by 11:59 p.m. ET two days before your exam for a 70% refund; later cancellations get 55%.
