How to register for the ABIM exam
You register through your ABIM Physician Portal during the open window (December 1, 2026 to April 15, 2027 for the Internal Medicine exam), pay the $1,430 fee, then book a date with Pearson VUE. Appointments are first come, first served, and ABIM enforces its deadlines strictly.

If you need it, apply for the 50% needs-based fee credit before registering; recipients are told by mid-November.
Sign in to the ABIM Physician Portal between December 1 and April 15 and register for the exam.
$1,430 for Internal Medicine. Late registration (April 16-28) adds a non-refundable $400.
After registering you're routed to Pearson VUE to book a date and center, or call 1-800-601-3549 with your ABIM ID.
