How we rank USMLE prep
Our USMLE picks are based on what each provider publishes: question banks, teaching content, coverage of each Step, self-assessments and price. We have not run hands-on tests, so we do not give star scores. We explain which resource suits which student.
What we look at

| Coverage | Which Steps a subscription covers, and whether you pay again for the next Step. |
| Teaching | Video or library content to learn what you got wrong. |
| Readiness tools | Self-assessments and score predictors. |
| Total cost | The price for the access you need, including add-ons and extensions. |
| Claims | We check how pass-rate and “best” claims are measured. |
What we don’t do
- We don’t claim hands-on testing we haven’t done.
- We don’t accept payment for picks; we currently earn no commission from any USMLE provider.
