APhA Complete Review for Pharmacy: the pharmacists’ association NAPLEX book
The APhA Complete Review for Pharmacy, from the American Pharmacists Association, is a long-running NAPLEX review book. The 14th edition has more than 1,100 practice questions with explained answers, and costs $199.95, or $159.95 for APhA members. A companion Complete Review for Pharmacy Math ($59.95), mapped to the 2025 NAPLEX outline, covers calculations in more depth.
Prices, edition and question counts from APhA’s own store (pharmacist.com), checked October 12, 2026. Other APhA listings showed slightly different prices; check at checkout. We have not tested it hands-on, so this review has no score.

What stands out
- From the profession’s main association. Written and reviewed by pharmacist authors and an APhA editorial team, and updated regularly.
- Organized for review. Key points, checklists, tables and figures, with the most commonly used drugs highlighted.
- Lots of practice in print. 1,100+ questions with explanations of every answer option.
- Dedicated math book. The Pharmacy Math edition is mapped to the 2025 NAPLEX outline and adds biostatistics.
- Member discount. APhA members save $40 on the Complete Review.
What to watch for
- A book, not a course. There’s no video teaching, adaptive question bank or progress tracking; most students pair it with a question bank.
- Dense. Reviewers describe its chapters as thorough but heavy for a quick final review.
- Stock. APhA’s store showed the 14th edition as backordered earlier in 2026; check availability before you plan around it.
- Not cheap for a book. A full question bank can cost about the same.
