Best CMA review courses for 2026

Four courses lead CMA prep, and all four have been updated for the new case-based questions. They differ less on content than on price model, access length and how they teach, so the right pick depends on your situation more than on any ranking.

Last checked October 20, 2026 · Sources: Becker’s September 2026 price list, UWorld, Gleim and HOCK pages; Gleim and UWorld Premier prices as reported; IMA for exam facts. Ratings are editorial, from published details, not hands-on tests.

UWorld

How to choose, in four situations

Your employer is paying

Becker Pro is the only one of the four with a pass guarantee, and at $1,599 it costs $300 more than Advantage; when it's not your money, the price matters even less.

Becker CMA review
You are paying and studying part-time

Gleim Premium costs more upfront than the cheapest options, but it never expires. That is worth paying for if a retake or a busy year is likely.

Gleim CMA review
You study in short bursts

UWorld's explanations are built around visuals and its app covers the whole course, so short study sessions on a phone still count.

UWorld CMA review
You want to spend as little as possible

HOCK's membership is cheapest over a short, intense study period: four months at $119.99 is $479.96. Set a finish date, or the monthly charges will add up past a one-off course.

Also worth knowing

  • Surgent now belongs to UWorld. UWorld bought Surgent on April 30, 2026. Surgent still sells its own CMA course for now, but they are no longer competing companies.
  • Your course can cut your IMA fees. Several providers have IMA partnerships that take money off membership and the entrance fee. Compare that saving alongside the course price.
  • IMA gives you practice material. Enrolled candidates receive an exam support package with retired questions. It is not a course, but it is free and it is the real thing.

Common questions

Do I need a review course to pass the CMA?

Not strictly. But IMA’s materials alone do not teach the syllabus, and at $545 a part, one failed attempt costs about a third of a mid-price course.

Can I use a course I bought a few years ago?

Only if it covers case-based questions. Any course bought before 2026 should be checked, because the essay format it prepared you for is gone.

Does a CPA course cover the CMA?

No. The CPA and CMA cover different syllabuses and the providers sell them separately.

How much do CMA review courses cost?

Becker’s September 2026 price list shows CMA Review Advantage at $1,299 and Pro at $1,599; some older pages and review sites still quote $2,199 for Pro. UWorld’s Elite-Unlimited lists at $1,499, Gleim Premium is reported at $1,799, and HOCK is $119.99 a month.

How do you rate the CMA courses?

Becker 4.4, UWorld 4.3, HOCK 4.2 and Gleim 4.1 out of 5, using the same six-category rubric we use across the site. Each review shows its breakdown.
