Testmasters FE review: intensive classroom-style FE courses

Testmasters runs intensive FE courses taught from its own manuals, in classroom, live online and on-demand formats. Its FE Electrical and Computer course packs 78 hours of instruction and costs $999 on-demand or from $1,299 live online, with a guarantee: attend every class, do the assignments and fail, and you can repeat the next online course free.

We checked the Electrical and Civil courses ($999 on-demand each, with 120 days to watch); confirm other disciplines with Testmasters. We have not tested it hands-on, so this review has no score.

What stands out

• Lots of instruction. 78 hours for FE Electrical, covering everything from circuits and power to software development.
• Course manual included, shipped with the on-demand course.
• Choice of formats. On-demand, live online with an interactive instructor, or classroom courses in many cities.
• Pass guarantee. A free repeat of the next online course if you attend every class, do the assignments and still fail.

What to watch for

• Price. About ten times PrepFE’s cost; worth it mainly if you need full teaching.
• Guarantee requires full attendance and completed assignments.
• No reference books provided in live courses; teaching is from Testmasters’ notes, so use NCEES’s free FE Reference Handbook alongside.
• Check your discipline. We verified the Electrical and Civil courses only.
