Best CMT prep in 2026: start with what your exam fee includes
Last checked October 16, 2026 · Sources: CMT Association registration, FAQs and 2026 Program Guide (PDF); UWorld’s CMT page
The best CMT prep for most candidates is what’s already included in the exam fee: the official CMT curriculum, plus access to the Optuma charting platform and Nasdaq Dorsey Wright research. Add the free sample questions in the CMT Association’s Program Guide for practice. UWorld, once the best-known add-on, has stopped selling its CMT review courses.
The official, all-digital curriculum comes with every exam registration.
→Charting platform and market research access, also included.
→Free sample questions for all three levels in the official guide.
→What your CMT registration includes
The CMT Association says every exam registration includes the official curriculum, access to Optuma and access to research from Nasdaq Dorsey Wright. Its FAQ describes the curriculum as official and all-digital, and says it is published by UWorld. Because the curriculum is what the exam is written from, it’s the core of any CMT study plan. The registration fee is $875 early, $1,075 standard or $1,475 late per level for the December 2026 exams.
Includes the official curriculum, Optuma and Nasdaq Dorsey Wright research. Late registration open until November 4.

The CMT Association’s 2026 Program Guide includes sample questions for Level I, Level II and Level III, each followed by the relevant excerpt from the curriculum. The Association notes the samples aren’t a study guide, but they show the style and depth of each level. Use them early to see the format and again near test day.
What happened to UWorld’s CMT course?
UWorld previously sold CMT prep, including a test bank for $125 per level with 550+ Level I questions and two mock exams, and a full review course for $795 per level. UWorld’s CMT page now says its CMT review courses have been discontinued from sale, and that its 2024 materials don’t reflect the 2025 exam. If you see those prices on older sites, they’re no longer available, and we’ve removed our UWorld CMT review.
How to prepare with the included materials

Work through the official curriculum in order, since it's what the exam draws on.
Use Optuma to practice spotting the patterns and indicators you read about on real charts.

How we chose these
We put the included official materials first because every candidate already has them and the exam is written from the curriculum. We list only options we can verify on the provider’s own site, and we remove products when they’re discontinued. We don’t accept payment for placement and don’t currently earn commissions from CMT prep providers.
