CFA community: Reddit and Quora
Where CFA candidates talk to each other online. These communities are unofficial: useful for study plans and morale, but check fees, dates and rules against CFA Institute’s own pages. Links checked October 11, 2026.
- r/CFA: a very large and active community for CFA candidates, with study-plan threads for each level, question-bank comparisons and results-day threads. Its own description points to an FAQ and community groups.
Quora
- CFA exam questions on Quora: longer answers, often about careers and whether the charter is worth it.
Using community advice well
- Check the date on a post. The program has changed in recent years, including computer-based testing and the Level III pathways, so older advice may not apply.
- Confirm fees and deadlines on the official CFA links page.
- Treat prep-provider recommendations with care: some posts are written by people who sell or are paid to promote a course.
