The cheapest way to prepare for the Praxis
Praxis prep can cost nothing: ETS publishes a free Study Companion and Study Plan for every test, gives you a free Interactive Practice Test when you register, and Khan Academy’s Praxis Core prep is free. If you need more, 240 Tutoring is about $20-$25 a month through some schools and KDP, and Study.com is $240 for four months.
From ETS’s pages and store, Khan Academy, and 240 Tutoring’s partner pages. Checked October 12, 2026.

Save on the tests themselves
- Take Core as the combined test: $150 instead of $270.
- Apply for an ETS fee waiver if you’re an eligible college student: up to three Core tests or one Subject Assessment, once a year.
- Register online: phone registration adds $35.
- Check SAT or ACT exemptions: some states accept a qualifying score in place of Praxis Core.
