How to register for the Praxis
First check which Praxis tests and scores your state requires. Then create an ETS account, add your tests and schedule either at home, with a live online proctor any day of the week, or at a test center. Fees are paid at registration ($90 per Core test, $150 combined; $130 or $156 per Subject Assessment), and your scores go to four recipients free.
From ETS’s Praxis registration, test and educator-program pages and its 2026-27 Information Bulletin. Checked October 12, 2026. If your state uses its own program (such as CSET or TExES), register through that program instead.
Use ETS's state requirements and your state education agency to find the tests and passing scores you need.
Sign in or register at ETS's Praxis site.
Find each test by name or code, add it to your cart, and pay. Take all three Core tests together as the combined test (5752) to pay $150 instead of $270.
Choose at home or a test center, then a date and time. At-home testing is open in the US, its territories and Canada.
Add up to four score recipients, such as your state and your preparation program, at no extra charge.
At home or at a test center?
- At home: available seven days a week with a human online proctor; ETS says the test is identical to the test-center version. Check ETS’s equipment requirements first.
- Test center: book a center near you; some states add surcharges at their centers.
- Calculators: only allowed or provided where ETS says so for your test.
Ways to save
- Core combined test: $150 instead of $270 for three separate tests.
- Fee waivers: eligible college students can have up to three Core tests or one Subject Assessment waived, once per testing year.
- Register online: phone registration costs $35 extra.
