How we rank PANCE prep

Last checked October 17, 2026 · Sources: NCCPA Become Certified and PANCE blueprint; providers’ own pages (Blueprint PA, UWorld, BoardVitals)

This page explains how we rank PANCE prep. We group question banks by what they do best (question count, price, free trial or guarantee), use NCCPA for exam facts and each provider’s own pages for prices, and rate each course out of 5 with one rubric used across the site. Ratings are editorial, not hands-on tests, and we take no payment for placement. Free official NCCPA material always comes first.

Why NCCPA material comes first

NCCPA writes the PANCE. Its 2025 blueprint shows exactly how questions are spread across 14 organ systems plus professional practice and seven task categories, its sample items come with critiques from its test committee, and its practice exams are built from its own item banks. Any paid bank should follow that same blueprint, so we judge paid prep on what it adds.

What we look at

Factor Why it matters for the PANCE
Alignment with the 2025 NCCPA blueprint Weights changed in 2025: cardiovascular fell from 13% to 11%, and professional practice rose to 6%. Banks should say they follow the new blueprint.
Number of questions and access length A 300-question exam rewards lots of practice; we note counts and how long you get.
Published price and what it includes We link every price to the provider’s own page, and say when prices only show at checkout or come from an older post.
Free trials and guarantees We note trials and pass guarantees, and their conditions, such as minimum plan length.
Extras Flashcards, a medical library, PA-C support, live courses or CME for later recertification.

Our criteria. Each review links to the provider pages we used.

How we rate PANCE prep

We use the same rubric across every exam on this site. Each course is scored out of 5 in six categories, based on what the provider publishes and the consensus of third-party reviews, and the weighted total is its rating: question bank 25%, practice exams 20%, lectures and materials 15%, platform and mobile 15%, support 10% and value 15%. Ratings are our editorial assessment, not measured results.

Provider Rating
Blueprint PA 4.2 / 5
UWorld 4.1 / 5
BoardVitals 3.5 / 5

What we don’t do

  • We don’t claim hands-on testing we haven’t done; our ratings are editorial and say so.
  • We don’t accept payment for placement, and we don’t currently earn commissions; if that changes, our affiliate disclosure will say so at the top of each page.
  • We don’t copy other sites’ ratings or text.
  • We don’t publish prices we can’t see on a provider’s own site; where we can’t confirm one, the button says “See prices”.

A note on sources

Rosh Review’s PA products now sell as Blueprint PA, so older reviews and prices for ‘Rosh Review PANCE’ may be out of date. Where a provider shows prices only at checkout (UWorld) or in an older blog post (BoardVitals), we say so. BoardVitals’ pricing page currently shows a higher 6-month price ($199) than its older blog ($169), and we show both.

How often we check

Every page shows the date we last checked it, with its sources, under the title. We aim to recheck prices every three months and NCCPA rules every six, and sooner when NCCPA changes its blueprint or passing standard, as it did in January 2025.

Common questions about how we rank PANCE prep

Do you test the question banks yourselves?

No. Our ratings are editorial: we score what providers publish, and the consensus of third-party reviews, against the rubric above, and the board’s official blueprint guides what we look for. Each review shows its breakdown.

Do providers pay for their ranking?

No. We don’t currently earn commissions, and no one pays for placement.

Why don't you list Rosh Review?

Rosh Review’s PA products are now sold as Blueprint PA, so we review them under that name.
