The best free COMLEX resources come from the NBOME itself: free sample questions for every COMLEX-USA level, a Level 1 practice exam and the full COMLEX blueprint. For a timed rehearsal, its COMSAE self-assessments are low-cost: an NBOME purchase page lists $60 per form. The NBOME says candidates who take a timed COMSAE before their first COMLEX at that level do better on average.

How to use free COMLEX resources
- Read the blueprint first; osteopathic principles and practice make up at least 12% of Level 1, a part USMLE prep won’t cover.
- Try the sample questions early so the NBOME’s question style isn’t new on test day.
- Take a timed COMSAE a few weeks before your exam, then again closer to test day.
- Treat COMSAE as a guide, not a prediction; the NBOME cautions against using it to predict your result.
