Pocket Prep CISA review: cheap, mobile practice questions

Pocket Prep is a practice-question app, not a full course: 1,200 CISA questions with explanations across all five domains, from $20.99 a month or $124.99 a year. It’s one of the cheapest ways to add practice to the official ISACA materials or a book, and the same subscription covers 26 other IT and security exams, including CISM and CRISC.

Prices, question counts and guarantee from Pocket Prep’s CISA page (pocketprep.com), checked October 12, 2026. We have not tested it hands-on, so this review has no score.

What stands out

  • Very low cost. $49.99 covers three months, enough for most study plans.
  • Study anywhere. Phone and web apps with quick quizzes, timed quizzes, weakest-subject quizzes and a mock exam.
  • Explanations for every question, written by industry professionals, according to Pocket Prep.
  • Domain breakdown. Questions are weighted toward the larger domains: 310 on Operations and Business Resilience and 313 on Protection of Information Assets.
  • Bonus exams. Premium includes access to 27 IT and cybersecurity exams, useful if CISM or CRISC is next.

What to watch for

  • Practice only. There are no lessons, videos or manual; Pocket Prep itself says it isn’t meant to be your only study source.
  • Not official questions. Its 1,200 questions outnumber the 1,070 in ISACA’s QAE database, but ISACA’s are written by the exam’s owner and are widely seen as closest to the real exam’s style.
  • The guarantee is extra time, not money. If you don’t pass, you get three more months of Premium free.
